Meet the directors

Concert Bands and Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Andy Shaw
Andy Shaw has been serving as Director of Concert Bands at Plymouth Community Intermediate School- a 6-8 school in Plymouth, Massachusetts since 2012. Prior to directing bands at the middle school level, Mr. Shaw served as assistant Marching Band Director for the combined Plymouth High School's Marching Band, taught k-5 general music and directed both elementary chorus and concert band ensembles. 

During the Summer months Mr. Shaw serves as the director of the Plymouth Public School's Summer Instrumental Music Program. A program that has been developed to cater to the needs of both the beginner and developing musician. 

Mr. Shaw is a product of the Plymouth Public Schools having graduated in 2005 from Plymouth North High School where he was a member of the soccer team, indoor and outdoor track and field teams, and the combined Plymouth High School's marching and concert bands. 

Mr. Shaw holds a bachelors degree in Music Performance from Bridgewater State University where he studied low brass performance with Roy Campbell and Douglas Wauchop and played in ensembles under the direction of Dr. Donald Running. Mr. Shaw holds a Master's of Music in Wind Band Conducting from Messiah College studying under Dr. Brad Genevro and Dr. William Stowman.

Mr. Shaw currently resides in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

String and Orchestra Ensembles under
​the direction of Mr. David Palombo
​David Palombo ​has been apart of the VPA department of Plymouth Public Schools as Strings and Music Teacher at Plymouth Community Intermediate School (P.C.I.S.) since 2018.

Prior to working in Plymouth, David was the Director and Artistic Coordinator of the intensive after school music program, El Sistema Somerville in Somerville Public Schools. He began working with Somerville Public Schools in 2013 as a Violin Teaching Artist and Conductor and then daytime Strings Teacher for the district. As a leader in the Greater Boston El Sistema community, David was the Artistic Director at Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YOFES) in Hyde Park and Orchestra Conductor at the Josiah Quincy Orchestra Program in Chinatown.

David holds a Bachelor’s of Humanities and Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master's in Music Education from Boston University. In recognition of his role as a "Citizen Artist" at BU, he received the 2013 Departmental Honors Award and was a semifinalist for the Albert S. Kahn Career Entry Award. David has made it a priority to connect with, inspire, and educate underserved communities in Boston and abroad. In summer 2013 and 2014, he completed teaching residencies in Haiti at the Jean Baptiste Dessaix Music School in Jacmel and the Cemuchca Music Camp in Cap Haitien, Haiti.  

As a private teacher, David has maintained large studios of violin and viola students. His students received many honors and awards and performed with All–State Orchestras, Brevard and Sewanee Music Festivals, and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra.

As a violinist, David has played with the Boston University Baroque Orchestra, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and Hollywood Film and Concert Orchestras, among others. His music festival appearances include Recontres Internationales des Graves in Bordeaux, France, the Meadowmount School of Music in Westport, New York, and Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Vocal Ensembles and Theater under the direction of Mrs. Jessica Fuller
Jessica Fuller is the Choral and Theatre Director at Plymouth Community Intermediate School. She also co-directs the Plymouth International Chorus which is a cultural exchange program between Plymouth, Massachusetts and Plymouth, England.  Mrs. Fuller is also the Choral Director for the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra’s Holiday Pops Concerts.
 
Mrs. Fuller began teaching at Plymouth Community Intermediate School in 2007. In addition to directing various choral groups, she directs the all-inclusive annual musical which involves over 100 students. She has a passion for working with the middle school voice. Mrs. Fuller was a 2017 recipient of an Inspiration Award from the Plymouth Public Schools.
 
Mrs. Fuller is also Music Director at St. Thecla Church in Pembroke where she develops and leads the music ministry throughout the church and serves as both a cantor and accompanist. She also maintained private voice studios in Pembroke, Plymouth, and Kingston for 13 years and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
 
Mrs. Fuller, soprano, has sung throughout the New England area in concert and operatic venues with Opera by the Bay, Boston POPS, New England Conservatory Extension Program, and Bridgewater State University. Her expertise spans a diverse set of genres including opera, operetta, art song, oratorio, and musical theatre. Mrs. Fuller traveled to Italy to perform the role of “Musetta” in Puccini’s opera, La Boheme, with the International Lyric Academy of Rome and Viterbo.

Mrs. Fuller resides on the South Shore with her husband Dave and their two children, Annabelle and Jackson.
